New wheels for Favajava: Reclaiming a Hwy 62 landmark

What happens when you take a famous Joshua Tree eyesore and give it a shot of Favajava? You get the Favan.

For years, locals driving past the High Desert Test Sites on the east end of town have recognized the stationary yellow bail bonds vans. They were a fixture of the Highway 62 landscape. Whitey, the face behind Favajava, acquired the vans to stop them from rotting away.

After retiring the Ford Aerostar, the classic Chevy van has been restored to mechanical glory. It is now the official towing vehicle for the Favajava mobile coffee trailer that's in the works.
